Volunteer Recruitment Process

The Family Advocate Coordinator has the overall responsibility for managing the volunteer program with assistance given by staff, teachers, Policy Council, and the Board of Directors. When you inquire about the volunteer program you will be given an application to complete and an interview date with the Family Advocate Coordinator and/or other program staff.

At the interview, your application will be reviewed and a brief description of the volunteer program and the various events will be given.

You will be asked the following:

  • Previous volunteer experience
  • Special Training, skills or interest
  • Restrictions that might affect you availability for volunteer work
  • Times available

How did you find out about us?

A written agreement will be prepared for you that explains your role in the program/event and formalizes your commitment. The agreement includes:
  • A description of your position
  • What an ambassador is
  • The name of the person who will coordinate your activities.
  • The event you choose to participate
  • The days and time you will work the event
  • Physical/Health Restrictions

Agency confidentiality policy

All parts of the agreement will be reviewed with you prior to signing.

Orientation

Upon approval of agreement, you will receive an orientation of the KidZKount programs. This includes Head Start, Early Head Start, State Preschool, Before and After-school programs, and a review of the handbook.
