Scholarship Information:
Sierra College Scholarships available. PCAC annually supports two scholarships for returning students who attend Sierra College. The Elrita Arden Memorial for $300 and the Sam Strothers, Jr. Memorial for $250 are in memory of two former Chairpersons of PCAC. Information and applications for these scholarships are available at the Sierra College Financial Aid Office in Rocklin, CA. Celebrating Families
|
Celebrating Families has been part of our agency since 1992 as part of a National Head Start program to educate parents on the dangers of drug abuse, and provide tools to strengthen the family.
We have an average 105 families completing the 8-week program in both Nevada and Placer Counties. We currently have about 1,000 families in some stage of the program. And it has generated around $64,000 in in-kind contributions.
We focus on parent education while having fun!
There are door prizes, snacks and socializing with other parents and staff. Support groups have been started that continue well beyond the 8 weeks. And many attendees have checked into treatment for drugs, alcohol, and "Quit Smoking" classes as a result of the education provided.
